McCormick(R) Teams Up with NBC to 'Lend a Hand'
SPARKS, Md., Jun 16, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
McCormick & Company, Inc. (NYSE: MKC), a global leader in flavor, is teaming up with NBC's "Today" Show for its annual 'Lend a Hand' charity goodwill road trip across America. As part of its commitment, McCormick is donating nearly $30,000 of products from among its various brands to The Community Kitchens of Birmingham, an organization dedicated to ensuring anyone in need gets a hot meal every day of the year. Included in the donation are McCormick seasonings, Zatarain's rice mixes, and Simply Asia soup bowls.
Lend a Hand's mission is to help small charities across the country work towards improving conditions in their communities. For the 10th consecutive year, NBC's Al Roker is travelling across the country, broadcasting live from the location of several charities along the way, including The Community Kitchens of Birmingham on Thursday, June 16. In each city, Roker surprises a deserving charity with trucks full of goods and supplies.
